Fall Ball League Information
Baseball Northwest's 2010 Fall High School League will begin the 18th season on Sunday, September 19th. One of the oldest and largest Northwest fall leagues is expecting over 60 teams for the fall of 2010. Divisions will be formed all over Oregon, Southwest Washington, West and East Washington.
The regular season schedule will again consist of five Sunday doubleheaders of seven innings with division winners meeting in regional and state tournaments. The Baseball Northwest’s Annual Fall Championships will be at Oregon State University’s Goss Stadium on Sunday, October 24th.
All high school-aged players are invited to participate. Individual players can register and be placed on teams in your area formed by Baseball Northwest or full teams can join on their own. Divisions will be formed all over each state. Schedules can be adjusted throughout the fall for competition levels for each team. Some games will be played on college fields. Teams can save on league fees by providing their own field.
Baseball Northwest provides regular association umpires, insurance, game balls, batting helmets, hats, and game tops. The weekend October 23rd and 24th is designated for make-up games due to rain cancellations, for those teams not in the playoffs. Last fall’s weather cooperated very well and nearly all games were played. Pre-season practice games can be scheduled for Sunday, September 12th for those teams ready to play; otherwise that date will serve as a practice/ organization day for those teams put together by Baseball Northwest. BBNW will provide coaches for those teams. The regular league season begins on Sunday, September 19th. BBNW team rosters are limited to 15 to ensure playing time. Non- BBNW teams are not limited in roster size. Rosters spots for individual player sign ups and teams registering as a complete team are granted on a first-come, first served basis. Practices during the week are determined on a team-by-team basis. League scores, standings, and highlights are posted weekly on the www.baseballnorthwest.com web site. End of the season all-league players for each team will published on the web site and in the Baseball Northwest newspaper.
Registration
Online registration will available soon. In the meantime, please use the Fall Ball Registration Form.
Individual player league fees are $145.00 and the team league fee is $1,575.00. Players can hold their rosters spots by submitting the registration form and fee; teams can hold spots with a $700.00 deposit. Teams can reduce the league fee by providing their own fields, coaches, or league approved uniforms. Contact Jeff McKay at mckay@baseballnorthwest.com or 541-896-0841 for more information. Most teams pay less than $1,000 league fee. Registrations will begin being accepted immediately. Individual registering players will be notified by email after September 7th for team placement and first practice time and site for Sunday, September 12th. Individual and team registration forms are available on the web site and in the BBNW newspaper. A mandatory pre-season coaches or team representative meeting will be scheduled for each area. Every effort will be made to schedule doubleheaders at 12:00 noon or 1:00, but a few games may have to be started later depending on field availability.
The popularity of fall baseball is growing rapidly and Baseball Northwest is looking forward to providing the best in development for all levels of players in a positive learning environment.
